Developments in the tinplate industry are leading to ever-thinner sheet material and higher processing speeds. Innovative processes and highly dynamic controllers improve material characteristics and boost economic and ecological benefits even further. Thanks to the revamping project of the TD1 tandem mill of Rasselstein GmbH, tinplate as thin as 90 μm can now be produced with extremely narrow tolerances in a stable, automated production process. The required modification of mechanical and automation systems was accomplished in record time.
