Converteam Inc., the North American entity of the Converteam Group, has operated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania since 1886 as predecessor companies GEC, AEG-Westinghouse, CEGELEC, and Alstom Power Conversion.

We have combined the heritage of these fine firms and developed into a major electrical systems integrator in North America. Through a network of engineering, manufacturing, supply, training, and services across the US and Canada, we serve the Marine, Oil & Gas, and Offshore, Renewables and Industry markets. Converteam Inc., along with Converteam Canada Inc., contributes to the corporation’s overall success, not just in North America, but also around the world.

A variable speed drive manufacturing facility is located in Pittsburgh, PA together with the Service and R&D divisions.  In 2009, Converteam NA established a secure company, Converteam Naval Systems Inc.
